Prof. Reind van de Riet: a good friend with whom I have initiated the NLDB Conference in 1995. Skilled organist, he animated with his shows and talks many of the NLDB sessions along the years. He was also the Data and Knowledge Engineering editor for Europe. He passed away on December 18th 2008. He will be missed by many of us.
