First Call for Papers

PAREO 2005
Forth International Workshop of the EURO Working Group
on Parallel Processing in Operations Research (PAREO)

Mont-Tremblant (Montréal), Canada

January 16-21, 2005

PAREO aims to bring together researchers interested in the development of parallel and distributed algorithms for operations research problems.

PAREO 2005 is the fourth meeting organized by the PAREO working group. It is hosted by the Centre for Research on Transportation (Université de Montréal, HEC-Montréal, École Polytechnique de Montréal) and the Chair on Logistics Management (ÉSG, UQÀM). Its scope is to be a meeting place for researchers actively involved in the development and application of parallel computing methodologies for discrete and continuous optimization. Through presentations and open discussions, the meeting aims to promote the exchange of recent results, review successes and setbacks, identify promising research directions and application domains, and foster collaborations. Furthermore, the program is designed to provide ample opportunity for informal discussions.

Presentations are invited (but not limited to) on recent developments in exact and meta-heuristic (and hybrid) parallel methods for continuous and discrete optimization problems, software tools and libraries, grid-related developments and applications, innovative applications of parallel optimization.

The workshop will be held in the beautiful mountain (well, by our East Canada standards) village of Mont Tremblant, at the Hôtel Club Tremblant http://www.clubtremblant.com/ facing the ski resort of the same name http://tremblant.com/index.htm

The registration fees and full-board room tariffs will be available shortly. They will be low. The program will be organized such that participants can enjoy the winter activities (downhill and cross-country skying, in particular) of the village.

To submit a proposal for a 30-minutes presentation, please sent a title and short abstract (less than 500 words) to theo@crt.umontreal.ca We would appreciate receiving notice these proposals no later than September 3, 2004. To indicate an interest to participate without presenting, send an email also to theo@crt.umontreal.ca
